Striker Resources NL could soon join the diamond producer ranks if all goes to plan at its Seppelt project in the Kimberleys of Western Australia, while its Merlin project in the Northern Territory is also starting to take shape. The 2004 work program is focused on assessing the viability of open pit mining at Seppelt 2, Seppelt 1 and Seppelt 5 as well as assessing the potential for underground mining at Seppelt 2 and Seppelt 5. A combined inferred open pit resource of 450,000 carats exists within the project area. The largest diamonds recovered to date includes one 's measuring 6.3 cts and one 8.4 cts. A pilot modular HMS processing facility at Seppelt 2 has been scaled up to process about 20,000 tonne of material at a rate of up to 30t/hour.
