JUNIOR QUEENSLAND COAL producer Aquila Resources Ltd is looking to split its exploration and development assets in a move set to help expedite production at its three advanced hard rock hydrocarbon projects in the state. The Western Australian-based company, which also has an office in Queensland, has also just increased the coal resources at its Belvedere joint venture by 1.211 billion tonnes to an impressive 3.866 Bt. In terms of the demerger, Aquila plans to list a separate company (Aquila Exploration Ltd) to create "independent, strategic, operational and investment objectives that (are) capable of responding quickly and effectively to future opportunities for future growth".
