Bowen Basin charge begins

WITH ITS ISAAC Plains coal mine in Queensland ramping up production over the next two years on the back of its developing its Isaac Plains South project, Aquila Resources Ltd continues to expand and grow its coal portfolio in the state. Isaac Plains represents Aquila's initial production source in the Bowen Basin and is targeting production of 1.2 million tonnes per annum this year before rising to 2.8 Mtpa by 2010 (in line with the planned port expansion at Dakymple Bay Coal Terminal). At the same time, the company is progressing study work on the larger scale HCC projects Peak Downs east and Belvedere under its Bowen Central and Belvedere joint ventures with Vale Ltd.
