Sometimes the best laid plans go to waste. When the above-mentioned CMEWA held the launch of its visionary publication -- Bedrock 2005: Expanding Horizons -- at Government House (to an audience that included Premier Gallop, the WA Governor, dignitaries from Japan, China, India, the USA and Britain along with a host of media), the showcase of the event was set to be a multimedia presentation shown during a first-class lunch to a room of several hundred people. The first attempt at showing the video on the main screen stalled just over a minute into the show, forcing organisers to proceed with the speakers in hope of showing the presentation at the end. After the technical difficulties were apparently overcome, the show began again -- this time featuring a blank screen as the audio continued on queue.
