Logistics group doubles truck tyre imports

Leading heavy machinery logistics company, the ST Group, is doubling its capacity to process imported truck tyres, to help ease the crisis threatening production levels in Australia's mining and earthmoving industries. Tyres for heavy mining trucks, as well as large and mid-sized earthmoving trucks, are in short supply worldwide. With tyre manufacturers unable to meet the demand of Australia's booming mining industry, a number of operators are attempting to bring both new and used tyres from overseas. ST Group's managing director Brad Skelton said his company was giving top priority to processing those imports, in order to keep the mining industry moving.
