TO BE HELD at the Mecure Hotel on April 15-16, the two day conference and workshop will see some of the key players in the Australian coal industry, such as Xstrata Coal and BMA Coal, discuss latest developments at their respective United Collieries and Norwich Park operations. Other heavyweights in the energy scene - like Sedgman, DGH Engineering, along with the universities of Queensland, Newcastle and Monash - will present papers at the event. Its sponsorship line-up includes Intalaysis, SES Mining, JSIS Engineering and Scantech. Opening the first day will be Professor Kevin Galvin, the deputy director of the Centre for Advanced Particle Processing from the University of Newcastle, who will discuss the application of a new separation technology being used in coal preparation (the reflux classifier) both at a full scale plant sized level and the process feasibility phase.
