SINCE 1975 THE US Geological Survey has been refining a three-prong integrated mineral deposit assessment model to help reduce some of the uncertainty in early stage exploration. Its target audience has not just been made up of explorers looking for geologically prospective real estate - it has also been aimed at assisting governmental and industrial policy makers as well as regional development planners.
