OWNER OF THE historic Rosebery lead/zinc/ copper/silver/gold mine in western Tasmania - Zinifex Ltd - is taking a long and hard long look at the underground operation as it attempts to significantly increase the project's reserve inventory. Reserve depletion for Rosebery has traditionally been around 4-5 years ever since ongoing activities started at the current site some 70 years ago. This position, however, is no longer acceptable to the company, which has started making a concerted effort to extend the polymetallic project's mine life until at least 2021.
