Trail blazing Sydney-based mining house Sino Gold Ltd has further strengthened its presence in the Chinese gold sector following moves to acquire yet another project in the country's north east. in early June the company announced it had signed a heads of agreement with Brigade 707 (formally known as No 707 Brigade of Heilongjiang Nonferrous Metals Geology Exploration) to explore and develop the Dong'an gold play in the Heilongjiang Province. The deal covers three exploration tenements totalling around 115 square kilometres. Located some 425 km north of the provincial capital Harbin, Dong'an was originally discovered by Brigade 707 in 1998 and now joins the growing list of projects in Sino's Chinese portfolio.
