For the Geological Survey of New South Wales' Lindsay Gilligan there are a number of compelling reasons why mineral proponents should look seriously to NSW as an investment destination. The State, he said, offered an internationally A-rated exploration address it had an information-rich and low risk working environment, land access was excellent and it contained world-class mineral systems. Speaking at the recent Mining 2004 Conference in Brisbane, Gilligan said there had been a flurry of new field activities in NSW over the past two years, with many of the explorers being based in West Australian. There were, he explained, four world-class mineral provinces sitting within the State's borders.
