Cobar keeps ticking after a century of production

While less well known to the general public than mining centres such as Broken Hill, Mount Isa or the Bendigo and Kalgoorlie gold fields, Cobar in New South Wales is nevertheless one of Australia's major mineral provinces. The area remains a highly prospective target for copper, gold, silver, and zinc, and dozens of companies are active in Cobar, which has produced, or has in resources, more than $50 billion worth of metal.
