Perth-based Gryphon Minerals Ltd has continued to forge ahead at its flagship Banfora gold project in the West African nation of Burkina Faso, with further results from first pass RC drilling at the exciting Samavogo prospect confirming the potential for world class yellow metal mineralisation in the area. Banfora is located in the south west of the country, which is a major gold producing district hosting a number of sizeable projects such as Randgold Resources Ltd's Tongon deposit (4.2 million ounces), Resolute Mining Ltd's Syama (5 million oz mined and 6.5 million oz in gold resources) and the AngloGold Ashanti Ltd/Randgold Morila joint venture (6.5 million oz).
