Understanding Aboriginal cultural heritage in the context of exploration and mining

Given that Aboriginal cultural heritage is now one of the factors which is considered by regulatory authorities both at the environmental assessment stage and at the mining proposal stage it is important that it is fully understood by the mining industry. The advent of native title has blurred the boundaries between Aboriginal cultural heritage and native title rights, in particular, the fact that each is governed by separate legislation.
