Ausdrill ploughs on despite industry downturn

Diverse mining services company Ausdrill is set for a steady operating year with a reported expected net profit after tax of between $90-96 million, a fair effort in the face of ongoing production slowdowns, exploration delays and falling commodity prices in Australia. Prevailing negative market conditions experienced by the mining industry since September 2012 onwards have contributed to delays in Ausdrill's planned expansion into the mineral assaying and coal seam gas drilling sectors, however the company's core business of mining services in Africa and Australia has continued to perform as expected in early 2013 due to a focus on production-related services.
