Brisbane-based SMC Gold Limited with copper-gold operations in Chile, the world's largest copper producing nation, is looking to a three-fold expansion by 2007. SMC aims to create shareholder value by growing as a mid-sized copper and gold producer, based on established operations, gold mineral resources and an experienced management team. The company plans to treble annual metal in concentrate production to 13,000 tonnes of copper and 6,600 ounces of gold over two years, and substantially increase net cash flows.
