Gindalbie's iron ore connection taking shape

The decision to acquire 100 percent of the Gossan Hill deposit near its existing Minjar gold mine in Western Australia has given Gindalbie Gold NL some much needed breathing space to accelerate exploration and extend the operation's life. At the same time the company's Mt Karara and Blue Hills iron ore projects in the mid west provide an opportunity for the company to enter the iron ore industry. Gindalbie is investigating the potential of the Mt Karara magnetite deposit to support a project producing magnetite concentrates for a minimum of 20 years. The mining house will be embarking on field work at the projects to further evaluate the potential of the previously identified magnetite mineralisation and to find more hematite mineralisation. In the late 1960s and early 1970s WMC Ltd conducted a preliminary examination of the potential of the Mt Karara magnetite deposit to upgrade into a concentrate to support a pelletising project at Kooloonooka.
