With a Federal poll looming in Australia many in the country's mining and exploration worlds are beginning to wonder exactly what the Labor Party will offer the domestic resources sector if elected. Earlier this year the current national Resources Minister - Queensland's Ian Macfarlane - got well and truly into polling mode when he used two industry conferences to brow beat the Opposition. At both the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association's Ltd's annual chin wag in Canberra and the Australian Gold Conference in Perth, Macfarlane levelled a number of accusations at Labor in the hope of convincing delegates that they simply couldn't trust a Mark Latham-led Government.
