Expansions and new plant to drive 600,000 carat production

The completion of expansion projects at Ellendale 4 and 9 in Western Australia over the next few months will underpin Kimberley Diamond Company NL's status as a profitable, top five Western world diamond producer. It seems the company, headed by executive chairman Miles Kennedy, can't put a foot wrong, recently achieving an all-time record price of 393/carat US dollors from the 49th diamond sale from its Ellendale project. The record sales price was achieved for a parcel of 6,033.85 carats realising total sales proceeds of about 2.4 million US dollors. The parcel comprised run-of-mine production but excluded over 50 percent of the near gem Indian material, which was supplied to a new customer.
