When Andean Resources Ltd managing director Gavin Thomas said he believed there would be a substantial consolidation of juniors operating in South America, he probably didn't bargain on Kingsgate Consolidated Ltd making a play for Andean the very next day. Kingsgate made an off-market takeover offer for 100 percent of the shares in the junior, offering Andean shareholders one Kingsgate share for every 15 of their shares held. Andean advised its shareholders to take no action.
