Staged development pays off

Dual-listed Anvil Mining Ltd continues to enjoy its "first mover" status in the Democratic Republic of Congo as it pursues its goal of becoming a 100,000 tonne per annum copper producer by the end of the decade. The pioneering West Perth-based resources house has just completed its fifth consecutive quarter of growth in revenues, operating profit and net earnings, producing 11,098t of contained copper and 526,513 ounces of silver during the June period at its Dikulushi and Kulu mines (in which the company has 90 percent and 70 percent stakes respectively). Revenues from the copper and copper-silver concentrate sales were 43 million dollors - up some 310 percent on last year's corresponding quarter - a figure which no doubt helped the mid-tier miner record an operating profit of 27.7 million dollors
