It is commonly accepted that former Western Australian Liberal Party leader Colin Barnett bungled the 2005 WA election after ridiculously promising to build a pie-in-the-sky water canal across most of the State. During his appearance at the Australian Uranium Conference, however, one thing remained obvious - despite his track record, Barnett is still the only member of the current Paul Omodei shadow cabinet with the experience and political savvy to lead the Coalition to victory at the next poll.
