Deposit sets project apart

Soon-to-be producer Macmin Silver Ltd has found itself in a unique position in an Australian context regarding its Texas silver project in Queensland. The project is located 220 kilometres west-south-west of Brisbane and only seven km from the town of Texas. What sets the company apart is the nature of its Twin Hills deposit at Texas, which is a disseminated silver deposit with only minor gold credits. The majority of silver in Australia, however, is produced as a by-product of the massive sulphide mines such as Broken Hill in New South Wales and Mt Isa in Queensland. "That does separate us from a lot of other people," Macmin managing director Denis O'Neill said.
