While constantly assessing new opportunities in a bid to deliver early cash flow, Kalgoorlie-based Pioneer Nickel Ltd's primary focus is the search for nickel sulphide deposits on its 100 percent-owned tenements. Starting life as a spin-off of Heron Resources Ltd, the company's main project areas are strategically located along the Widgiemooltha Greenstone Belt with neighbours including Titan Resources Ltd (at Armstrong, Zabel and McEwen) and Breakaway Resources Ltd (at 5A, 5B and Andrews). A recent vote of confidence in, the company and its ground position was when a 10 percent stake was acquired by Jubilee Mines NL. The latter also formed a major joint venture with Pioneer at the Acra project. According to Pioneer managing director David Crook, the junior has a good relationship with partners and neighbours, and "is constantly in discussion about how to best advance the projects".
