While mining booms generate plenty of excitement, they also, have a downside. In tile shadows of healthy demand, high commodity prices and rising profits lurks increasing levels of residual risk, rapid degradation and employee fatigue as companies strive to reach expanded production targets. Residual risks are the inherent dangers found in the four factors (processes, technology, physical environment and human resources) that combine when any business activity is carried out.
