Goldfields abandons West Africa for Americas

International Goldfields (IGS) has jumped ship from West Africa with the sale of its gold permits in Mali and Cote d'lvoire as part of a proposed merger with US-based Santa Fe Gold to become a Brazilian and American-focussed entity. The company entered into a binding term sheet in April for the divestment of its holdings (the Arrah, Kahola, Koutouba, Manian and Terengela South permits in Cote d'lvoire and Diendo, Dafara, Kounian, Nangalasso, Siele and Tanala projects in Mali) to a private vendor.
