Rudi Gomez, the mechanical engineer responsible for the huge Carrapateena copper discovery in South Australia's north and who became a multi millionaire from its sale last year, is persisting with advancing the mining and mineral processing technology breakthroughs he developed in recent decades. Delegates on the final day of the Resources & Energy Symposium in Broken Hill learned that Adelaide-based Rudi Gomez was not just a mining man who tried his luck by getting SA Government sponsorship to drill two holes into what became a spectacular new copper-gold discovery in the same region that contains Olympic Dam and Prominent Hill.
