NZ should look at offshore government incentive models

Two prominent New Zealand scientists believe the Government should look at exploration incentive models applied in Canada and Australia to lift the discovery rate to boost the economy. A paper presented at the AusIMM NZ Minerals Conference by consultant Richard Barker and co-authored by Tony Christie of GNS Science said if NZ was to derive greater value from its mineral potential then a substantial increase in exploration investment was needed.
