Anvil Mining NL aims to lift annual copper production from a forecast 36,500 tonnes for 2006 to 50,000t in 2007, with silver production for the 12 months remaining steady at 1.8 million ounces. In 2005, the company produced 19,178t tonnes of copper and 1.7 million oz of silver. At its 90 percent-owned flagship Dikulushi copper-silver mine in the Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where underground mining is scheduled to commence late in 2007, the measured and indicated resource estimate of contained copper metal was recently increased by 31 percent based on a revised geological interpretation and assay results from a deep diamond drilling program completed earlier this year.
