Emerging uranium producer Paladin Resources Ltd has initiated dialogue with /the Government of Malawi as it advances its second African energy project to the bankable feasibility stage. The exploration house, which is looking to begin construction of its proposed Langer Heinrich uranium mine in Namibia during the second quarter of 2005, has begun talks with Malawi's Mines Department as it takes its 90 percent-owned Kayelekera play through its pre-feasibility steps. Kayelekera has a standing resource of 11,547 tonnes of ore at 0.15 percent uranium -- some 547t more than its lower grade (0.11 percent uranium) Namibian counterpart. It does, however, have a lower current net present value (at a 10 percent discount) than Langer Heinrich, which is expected to return US 83 million dollars -- assuming a price of US 20 dollars/pound - as opposed to Kayelekeras US 61 million dollars figure.
