Untroubled by the apparent demise of major shareholder Gympie Gold Ltd, D'Aguilar Gold Ltd is continuing with its plan to look for bulk mineable targets in the eponymously named 2,500 suare kilometre gold project 50 km west of the historic Gympie Goldfield in south east Queensland. D'Aguilar believes the Kilkivan area is highly prospective for gold ore types including gold-copper ore bodies of the intrusive-related class, metal sulphide vein systems and high grade epithermal gold structures. The project area has past production of 200,000 ounces of gold including 70,000 oz produced from D'Aguilar's current leases by the 150,000 tonnes per annum mill now owned by the company.
