Mid west set to boom

Gindalbie Metals Ltd is emerging as one of the next generation of Australian miners to I benefit from assets originally discarded by the iconic mining house Western Mining Corporation. The company is currently developing some of the iron ore tenements left behind by WMC in Western Australia's Mid West 35-40 years ago after the mining giant got sidetracked by other projects (like the development of Kambalda's nickel field, its activities in WA's goldfields and the discovery of the mighty Olympic Dam polymetallic deposit in South Australia). Iron ore activities in the region were also put on the backburner as the Pilbara took off, although interest in the lower grade Mid West ore bodies was reignited to some degree by the proponents behind a failed steel mill bid (Kingstream Steel Ltd) during'the late 1990s/early 2000s. Interestingly, Gindalbie has inherited one of Eingstream's projects -- the Blue Hills play--which sits some 260 kilometres east of the port city of Geraldton.
