Arelative newcomer to the software world -- Cube Consulting -- is quickly carving out a niche in the area of human logistics software, particularly as it applies to remote mine sites which have a fly-in/fly-out workforce. Soon to be relocating to new offices in West Perth, Cube was incorporated in 2000, and currently has 25 personnel with a yearly turnover between 3-4 million dollars. "Our geological consultants are very busy at the moment doing a variety of work from production systems in the geological field through to resource estimation work for a variety of clients," Cube managing director Garry back said. "On the IT side we've typically undertaken custom write and support work for mining companies, but over the last two years we've progressively moved into development of packaged software called inSite." InSite is made up of three main modules in its current form -- inflight (Cube's flight scheduling roster and accommodation management system), intuition (competencies, compliances and procedures) and inControl (occupational health, safety and risk management).
