The Labour Relations Amendment Bill and the Basic Conditions of Employment Amendment Bill, introduced by the ruling ANC, have been substantially criticised by both sides of politics. The DA fears that if the Bills become law, they will contribute to South Africa's growing unemployment problem and Cosatu believes they will restrict activities of the union movement in the country.
