Senate Committee Approves 1-Year Extension of CFATS

The Senate Appropriations Committee, chaired by Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii), Sept. 7 approved the $41-billion Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appropriations bill for fiscal year 2012. Included in the bill is a one-year extension of DHS' authority to operate the Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS), reports the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA).
