摘要

A bacterial strain was isolated from carbofuran contaminated soil which was identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The bacterium has the ability to grow in minimal salt medium using carbofuran as sole source of carbon and energy. Cell free extract use as enzyme source, obtained after 24 hours culture of bacterium indicates that the enzyme is very efficient in converting carbofuran and carbaryl into their respective metabolites, that is carbofuran-7-phenol and a-naphthol respectively, while showed no activity against aldicarb.
