House Extends 50-Cent Alt Fuel Tax Incentive

The U.S. House of Representatives Dec. 9 extended for one year the 50-cent-per-gallon alternative fuel tax credit that includes propane. However, H.R. 4213 did not include the tax credit for the use of propane as a forklift fuel that was in place through the end of 2009. Effective Jan. 1, the credit is no longer available. The action came as House members extended numerous tax provisions that expired at the end of 2009.
