摘要

This letter reveals a design approach for a bandpass shielding enclosure to be applied in modern handheld communication devices employing either an internal electric-dipole antenna or an internal magnetic-loop antenna. This enclosure features high transmittance at the wireless-signal band and high shielding effectiveness outside this band, and has minimal influence on the radiation characteristics of the internal antennas used with these devices. A prototype was created and examined. The simulated and measured results demonstrate that the prototype can achieve the promised performance for either kind of internal antenna.
