CPW-FED MINIATURIZED SPLIT RING-LOADED SLOT ANTENNA

In this article, a simple and an efficient approach for antenna miniaturization of split ring-loaded slot antenna fed by the CPW line has been proposed. It has been shown that the fundamental resonant frequency has been lowered considerably by properly loading a pair of split ring resonator (SRR) rings at the edge of the half-wavelength slot. A 26% miniaturization is achieved in comparison to slot antenna without SRR loading. The radiation pattern is also seen to be unaffected by the presence of the SRR.
