摘要

This article presents a novel broadband E-shape radiation pattern reconfiguratable microstrip antenna. The MEMS switches are used to turn the two operations, a basis mode E-shape microstrip antenna and a high-order mode E-shape microstrip antenna. It is important to make wide-beam and high-gain radiation patterns of microstrip antennas, which can be used in GPS, mobile terminal, or wide-angle scanning phased array. The proposed reconfigurable structure is independent from the antenna types. Measured results of the proposed antennas are provided.
