摘要

Its this Letter a new approach for the estimation of the electric field distribution in phantoms exposed to not completely specified or unknown electromagnetic source is proposed. Starting from the knowledge of the tangential component of the electric field on a surface around the object, the problem is recast in a boundary value problem numerically solved by means of a finite-element procedure. Neither description nor modeling of the source is required. Numerical results concerning a two-dimensional geometry are provided in order to assess the effectiveness of the proposed approach showing its capabilities and current limitations.
