摘要

In this letter, a passive RFID transponder based on an enhancement mode pseudomorphic HEMT (EpHEMT) is proposed. Taking advantage of the slightly positive threshold voltage of this transistor technology, a dual-function detector/mixer circuit with good RF-to-DC and frequency conversion efficiency has been designed. Such structure has been integrated in a conveniently designed aperture coupled patch, configuring the complete tag unit. On reception of an interrogating signal, the detector switches on the data generator circuit, being the information signal up-converted near the interrogating frequency band through an optimized drain mixing configuration.
