摘要

An innovative dual frequency planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) mounted at the bottom end of the ground plane of a folder-type mobile handset is presented. The proposed PIFA has a bent meandered radiating arm and is first printed on a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB), which is then bent by 900 and attached to and supported by a foam base of size 40 × 8 × 7 mm{sup}3. The proposed PIFA is capable of GSM/DCS operation, and the experimental results of a constructed prototype are presented and discussed.
