Propane Mowers Do Not Qualify For Alternative Fuel Credit

The National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) reports that International Revenue Service (IRS) chief counsel Curt G. Wilson has clarified that propane engine fuel used in commercial mowers does not qualify for the 50-cent-per-gallon alternative fuel tax credit, currently in place through the end of this year. The response was to a letter from Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) seeking clarification on the issue due to confusion among his constituents regarding qualification for the credit.
