Although industrial R&D spending was flat over the past 3 years,things look good for federal R&D spending according to data from the National Science Foundation(NSF).Analysts from Battelle in Columbus,Ohio and R&D Magazine forecast that combined U.S.industrial,federal,academic and non-profit R&D spending will exceed US290 billion in 2004,up from US283billionin2003,oralmost2.5%.
