The relentless rise in LME nickel stocks continues, with the headline level at yet another record high on Friday, at 424,344 tonnes. This is up from 414,756 tonnes at the end of 2014, but 61% above year-ago levels of 263,898 tonnes. Interestingly, the rate of inflow has accelerated in recent days to average 1,561 tonnes per day (tpd) over the past week, compared with 824 tpd in the first 12 days of the year.
