Stocks Rally at Year End

Eight of our 16 stocks were in the plus column as 2003 came to an end.The overall economic news and performance of the market was better,however,than the individual stock prices suggest.Better economic reports and stronger corporate earnings drove the NYSE up 25% from the end of 2002 to the last trading day of 2003.The NASDAQ,not to be outdone,rose approximately 50% over the same period of time.It was the first time in 3 years that thesemarkets ended up,and was received as good news by all.After a long period in the doldrums,stocks seemed to celebrate the year-end holidays.
