The more-modest-than-expected revival in steelmaking raw materials prices over April will be of limited comfort to steel producers, particularly in Europe, still attempting to justify attempts to raise prices of finished steel but also in parts of Asia, where we understand Q2 long products contracts have fallen quarter-on-quarter, partially reflecting raw material erosion over the first three months of the year.
