Synthesis of chlorin-carbohydrate conjugates by 'click chemistry'

A synthesis of a conjugate of chlorin e(6) with beta-D-lactose has been carried out by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of a sugar azide to a propargyl derivative of chlorin e(6).
