Nickel prices ran into technical resistance last week and some traders decided to take profits. But the pull-back was short lived, as an escalation in violence in Ukraine over the weekend gave nickel speculators renewed confidence that there is still the chance of Russian exports being disrupted at some point. So, new longs are again pouring into the market, though resistance around $18,500/ tonne still requires some eroding.
