As we pointed out last week, there has been a noticeable pick-up in withdrawals of zinc from LME warehouses since the start of October, and that continued last week. Outflows averaged 2,680 tonnes per day (tpd), compared with an average outflow of 469 tpd in September, when spreads were considerably tighter.
